Ahead of World AIDS Day, UNAIDS is launching a new report entitled Get on the Fast-Track: The life-cycle approach to HIV.
The report will contain the new global number of people on antiretroviral treatment and will examine how people are being affected by HIV at different stages of their lives. It will show where and why there are still major challenges in reaching people with HIV services and give detailed examples of how these challenges can be overcome to enable people to have continued access to services throughout their lives.

The Global Action Plan for Influenza Vaccines (GAP) was launched in 2006 as a comprehensive strategy to reduce the present global shortage of influenza vaccines for seasonal epidemics and pandemic influenza in all countries of the world by: increasing seasonal vaccine use and vaccine production capacity and promoting R&D for better vaccines. GAP will end on Wednesday 16 November with numerous achievements but still a long way to go to ensure global protection in case of an influenza pandemic.
