New Permanent Representative of Sao Tome and Principe Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Presentation of Credentials

Abigail Tiny Cosme Bonfim, the new Permanent Representative of Sao Tome and Principe to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Cosme Bonfim had been serving as Second Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities since February 2019, where she was Director of the Office of Support of the President of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries, Advisor on communications at the Minister’s office, and Coordinator of the National Direction for State Protocol.  Concurrently, since February 2020, she was a professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Sao Tome and Principe, and since June 2022 she was President of the Scientific Council of the International Institute of the Portuguese Language.

From May 2016 to January 2019, Ms. Cosme Bonfim was in charge of public relations and communication at the Community of Portuguese Language Countries.  She presented a programme from January 2015 to January 2019, and was a presenter on a web channel from October 2013 to February 2016.

Ms. Cosme Bonfim was born on 26 October 1983. She has a Master in Linguistics from the Faculty of Literature, University of Lisbon (2012 to 2014) and has attended a number of training courses.
