New Permanent Representative of Tajikistan Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Sharaf Sheralizoda, the new Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Sheralizoda had been serving as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan since 2021.  An economist by career, he has held leadership roles in various public offices in Tajikistan, including Head of the Secretariat of the Advisory Council for Improving the Investment Climate (2018-2019), Director of the Centre for Implementation of Public-Private Partnership Projects (2013-2015), and Leading Specialist of the Department of Demographic Statistics and Employment of the State Statistics Committee (2004-2006).    

Further, Mr. Sheralizoda has had extensive experience in public and private enterprises, including as Chief Economist of the Subsidiary Enterprise "Station Dushanbe-1" of the State Unitary Enterprise "Tajik Railways" (2006-2007).

Mr. Sheralizoda holds a Master of Management from the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines (2017) and a degree in economy from the Tajik National University (2010).  He was born on 29 April 1981 and is married with four children.
