NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF CHAD PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA
Ahmad Makaila, the new Permanent Representative of Chad to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Michael Møller, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Makaila had been serving as Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, International Cooperation and the Diaspora of Chad. In 2017, he served as Deputy Chief of the Public Information Office and Spokesperson of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Chad. From 1999 until 2016, Mr. Makaila was a journalist, political analyst and editorialist. He served as the Director of the Agence Tchadienne de Presse in 2010 and 2011, and as the Deputy Director General of the Office National de Radiotélévision du Tchad from March 2011 to October 2016.
Mr. Makaila has a degree in journalism, specializing in television, from the Institut de Formation aux Techniques de L’Information et de la Communication in Niger and a Master in law, economy and management, specializing in management, from the Université de Lille in France.
Mr. Makaila was born on 14 October 1971. He is married and has two children.
