NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF AUSTRALIA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

Sally Louise Mansfield, the new Permanent Representative of Australia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Michael Møller, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Mansfield had been serving as Chief People Officer. She was Assistant Secretary, Staffing Branch, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia, from 2014 to 2016, and was Chief of Protocol at the Department from 2011 to 2014. She was also Assistant Secretary, Pacific Regional and New Zealand Branch, at the Department in 2011.

Ms. Mansfield served as Deputy Head of Mission and Permanent Delegate of Australia to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization at the Australian Embassy in Paris from 2007 to 2009. From 1998 to 2001, she was Head of Post at the Australian Consulate-General in Noumea. She was Deputy Director of the United Nations Drug Control Programme in Yangon from 1993 to 1995. She has also held other posts at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Ms. Mansfield was born on 18 June 1962. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia (1985); a Graduate Diploma in Public Administration from the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (1992); and a Graduate Diploma in Business Management from Monash University (1997).
