NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF NAMIBIA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS

Sabine Bohlke-Moller, the new Permanent Representative of Namibia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Michael Møller, the Acting Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Bohlke-Moller had been serving as Deputy Director for Southern Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2012. She was Deputy Director for all countries that Namibia had diplomatic relations with from 2010 to 2012, and was Deputy Director for Asia and the Pacific Rim from 2007 to 2010.

A career diplomat, Ms. Bohlke-Moller joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1991, working as a Counsellor at the Embassy of Namibia in France until 1995. She served as Chief Foreign Relations Officer for the European Union, Africa, Caribbean and Pacific Islands (1995 to 1999); for East Africa (2003 to 2006); and for Germany, Australia, Czech Republic and Slovak Republic (2005 to 2007).

Ms. Bohlke-Moller has a B.A. from Stellenbosch University in South Africa (1987), an M.A. in philology-inter-cultural communication from the same university(1989), and a diploma in translation from the University of South Africa (1999). She has undertaken various other courses and seminars. She was born on 23 May 1963 and is married with two children.
