NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF CUBA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

Presentation of Credentials

Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, the new Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Rodríguez Camejo had been serving as Director of the Multilateral Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since July 2009. From 2007 to 2009, she was Deputy Director for Political, Legal and Non-Aligned Movement issues at the Multilateral Affairs Division of the Ministry.

Previously, Ms. Rodríguez Camejo worked as Principal Specialist and Head of the Team on the Non-Aligned Movement at the Multilateral Affairs Division of the Ministry, from 2005 to 2007, and as Specialist on disarmament and international security issues at the Division, from 2002 to 2005.

From 1999 to 2002, she was in charge of disarmament and international security issues as Second Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Ms. Rodríguez Camejo holds a degree in international relations from the International Relations Higher Institute in Havana, Cuba (1986 to 1991) and a Diploma in International Relations and Development from the Social Studies Institute of The Hague, Netherlands (1997) and has attended various post-graduate courses on economic and political issues, international relations and multilateral negotiations. She was born in Havana on 22 October 1968.
