NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF ZAMBIA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA-

Presentation of Credentials

Encyla Chishiba Tina Sinjela, the new Permanent Representative of Zambia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Sinjela had been serving as Assistant Director for International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2010. She served as First Secretary and then Counselor at the Permanent Mission of Zambia to the United Nations Office at Geneva from 2000 to 2009. From 1985 to 2000, she served at the Permanent Mission of Zambia to the United Nations in New York, first as a Legal Advisor, then as Second Secretary and finally as First Secretary for Legal Affairs.

Ms. Sinjela has a Master of Arts in Government and Politics from St. Johns University in New York (1986/1987) and a Certificate in International Law and Diplomacy from the same University (1986/1987). She has a Bachelor of Law from the University of Zambia (1980 to 1984). Ms. Sinjela was born on 23 January, 1960 in Lusaka, Zambia. She is married with three children.
