Every year close to 1.4 million people die from acute and chronic liver problems caused by viral hepatitis - a group of infectious diseases that affect millions of people worldwide. In the lead-up to World Hepatitis Day – 28 July – the World Health Organization (WHO) is calling on countries to strengthen measures against viral hepatitis.
