Launch of GEO-5: UN's Most Comprehensive Assessment of the Global Environment
The report is strictly embargoed, and not for publication until after 4:00 p.m. Geneva time, 6 June 2012.
Mr. Jan Dusik, UNEP Regional Director for Europe (acting) will place GEO-5’s key messages in the context of the Rio+20 Conference;
Mr. Ron Witt, UNEP/DEWA Regional Coordinator for Europe will give an overview of GEO-5;
Mr. Lazslo Pinter, Professor at Central European University (CEU, Budapest) will highlight some of the major global findings and results of GEO-5, particularly of the future scenarios;
Mr. Nicolai Dronin, Professor at Moscow State University, will highlight European policies responding to the five selected “key challenges” which have been most successful to date.
