NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF LEBANON PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

Presentation of Credentials

Salim Baddoura, the new Permanent Representative of Lebanon to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Michael Møller, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Baddoura had been serving as Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of Lebanon to Austria and the international organizations in Vienna since February 2015. He served as a Counsellor at the Embassy of Lebanon to Austria from 2009 to 2015. He also served as First Secretary in the permanent delegation of Lebanon to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in Paris from 2002 to 2007.

Mr. Baddoura served as First Secretary at the Embassy of Lebanon to Nigeria from 1999 to 2002, and as Second Secretary at the Embassy of Lebanon to the Republic of Korea (1999). He has represented Lebanon in many international conferences.

Mr. Baddoura has a degree in philosophy from Saint Joseph’s University in Beirut (1992); a degree in political science from the same University (1996); and a diploma in public administration from the National School of Administration in France (1999). He was born in Deir el Kamar in Lebanon on 13 November 1969 and is married with two children.
