NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF UGANDA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG
Maurice Peter Kagimu Kiwanuka, the new Permanent Representative of Uganda to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Kagimu Kiwanuka had been serving as Minister of State for Economic Monitoring in the Office of the President, and ex-officio member of Parliament since 2006. From 2002 to 2006, he served as a member of Parliament.
Mr. Kagimu Kiwanuka has held a variety of posts during his career, including working as a banking officer in the Bank of Uganda and as an administrative officer at the National Housing and Construction Corporation, among others.
He has a B.A. in economy from Makerere University (1980 to 1983) and a B.A. in philosophy from Alokolum National Seminary, Gulu in conjunction with Urbaniana University, Rome (1984 to 1987). He was born on 22 September, 1961.
