This week, Heads of State will gather for an all-day high-level meeting on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) at the UN General Assembly in New York. Press Conference by the OHCHR (SPECIAL RAPPORTEUR ON THE NEGATIVE IMPACT OF UNILATERAL COERCIVE MEASURES ON THE ENJOYMENT OF HUMAN RIGHTS - UNILATERAL SANCTIONS)
Unilateral sanctions and compensation commissions - The UN Special Rapporteur on the negative impact of unilateral coercive measures on the enjoyment of human rights will present his annual report to the Human Rights Council which focuses on the issue of redress and remedies for the victims of unilateral sanctions.
The expert will also refer to his report on his mission to the Sudan and the follow-up of his recommendations.

Launch of the World First Aid Day Campaign “First aid for and by children”.
For this World First Aid Day (10 September), the IFRC will focus on the need for children, parents and carers to learn first aid.
Children make up a large portion of the population that receives first aid in every day emergencies and large-scale disasters and are often bystanders when peers and family members are injured. IFRC is committed to equipping children with information and skills to turn them into first aid providers in their communities. The IFRC is the largest first aid educator and provider in the world and for more than 150 years, first aid has been one of the principal services of the Red Cross and Red Crescent volunteers.
