New Permanent Representative of Armenia Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva
Hasmik Tolmajian, the new Permanent Representative of Armenia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Tolmajian served as the Ambassador of Armenia to France since 2018, concurrently serving as Ambassador to Monaco since 2020. She served as Deputy Permanent Representative of Armenia to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Minister Plenipotentiary at the Embassy of Armenia to Switzerland from 2014 to 2018. She was an Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2008 to 2014.
After joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Tolmajian held a variety of posts, including at the Ministry’s Department for Europe from 2004 to 2008; at Armenia’s Embassy to France from 2000 to 2004; and at the Ministry’s Department of the Commonwealth of Independent States from 1995 to 1996.
Ms. Tolmajian holds degrees from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (1997-1999); the University of Panthéon-Assas Paris II (1996-1997); and Yerevan State University (1991-1996). During her career, she was awarded four medals of honour, including the Medal of the National Defence of France in 2024. She was born on 10 March 1974 and is married with two children.
