COMMITTEE ON ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL RIGHTS CONCLUDES FORTY-FIFTH SESSION

Adopts Concluding Observations and Recommendations on Reports of Dominican Republic, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, Switzerland and Uruguay
The Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights today concluded its forty-fifth session during which it examined measures taken by the Dominican Republic, the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, Switzerland and Uruguay to comply with the standards of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
The concluding observations and recommendations by the Committee on the five countries will be issued at the end of the day on Monday, 22 November, and will be available on the session’s web page.
During the session, the Committee held a Day of General Discussion on sexual and reproductive health rights. It also adopted a statement on the right to sanitation.
The next session of the Committee will be held from 2 to 20 May 2011 when it is scheduled to consider the reports of Yemen, Republic of Moldova, Russian Federation, Germany and Turkey.
