OCHA presents its annual Global Humanitarian Overview 2020, the world’s most comprehensive overview of the state of humanitarian action, number of people in need, and current trends. It presents coordinated response plans for humanitarian action across the world including the funding necessary to implement them.

WHO launches first report tracking global progress on health and climate change
WHO will launch the first report providing the global findings from over 100 countries. The findings will provide a snapshot of the overall progress governments have made in the field of health and climate change to date, as well as insight into what work remains to be done in order to protect their populations from the most devastating health impacts of climate change.
The briefing will also provide an opportunity to highlight the key health messages WHO is bringing to the upcoming COP25 in Madrid, Spain.

New global mortality figures for measles for 2018 and update on 2019
WHO and the US CDC will release new global mortality figures for measles, embargoed until December 5th. WHO will provide a briefing on these numbers as well as the current measles situation, and the major outbreaks in the world today.

Emissions Gap report
The United Nations Environment Programme’s annual Emissions Gap report reveals the temperature rise we are currently headed for by the end of the century compared to pre-industrial times. It also reveals the amount we need to cut emissions by in order to bring the temperature rise down to internationally-agreed levels. Both conditional and non-conditional pledges made by countries under the Paris Agreement are analysed. The report - which is produced together with an international team of leading scientists - furthermore lays out actions that can be taken for reducing emissions in specific sectors.
