WHO Press Conference
World Health Day 2015, on 7 April, will draw attention to the issue of food safety. Ahead of the global launch, the World Health Organization will hold a media briefing to outline how globalization and the international reach of the food safety chain offer great opportunities — and threats — for human health, and also provide new figures on foodborne illnesses. The slogan for World Health Day 2015 is “From farm to plate, make food safe.”

IFRC Press Conference
Launch of the campaign “Words Against Ebola".
Just because Ebola is not in the headlines every day, does not mean it is close to being over. As you probably know, thousands of Red Cross volunteers are still on the ground in West Africa, helping those who are still fighting for their lives.
On 23 March 2015, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement will mark the one year commemoration since the Ebola epidemic was officially declared in West Africa. On this date, we will launch our global Words Against Ebola campaign, to help end the negative misconceptions about Ebola, and remind people it’s still far from over.
The goals of this campaign are to promote knowledge and awareness, alleviate fear, fight stigma, overcome complacency, and create a community of global support to get to zero cases of Ebola.
Elhadj As Sy – Secretary General, IFRC
