The UN Working Group will provide an update on the status of enforced disappearance throughout the world. The Chair will present the annual report of the Working Group, the reports on the visit to the Western Balkans, the follow-up reports on the recommendations made upon past visits to Mexico and Timor Leste as well as the thematic Study on Enforced Disappearance and Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.

“Saving more lives and improving the health of women, children and adolescents – a new global strategy for 2030”
On Monday, 14 September, the British Medical Journal is publishing, Towards a new Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s, and Adolescents’ Health, a special supplement written by global health experts, highlighting the critical actions and investments that will have the greatest impact on the health of these populations.
The briefing offers an opportunity for journalists to discuss with key WHO experts issues in women’s, children’s and adolescents’ health and hear an overview of the progress that has been made in 15 years to reduce maternal and child mortality through the Millennium Development Goals.
Hear about the lessons learnt, the new evidence and focus on critical population groups, such as adolescents and women and children living in fragile and conflict settings, and the renewed Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health.

New estimates Child Mortality rates released in Levels and Trends in Child Mortality Report 2015, a report published by the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the World Bank Group, and the Population Division of UNDESA. Rates plunged by more than half since 1990, but global MDG target missed by wide margin.
