WHO Press Conference

Press Conference Announcement
New WHO recommendations aim to help health workers provide better care to the more than 200 million girls and women worldwide who live with female genital mutilation. International migration has now made the practice, prevalent in 30 countries in Africa and in a few countries in Asia and the Middle East, a global health issue. WHO’s Guidelines for Management of FGM-related Health Complications, help health workers provide better care to girls and women living with female genital mutilation and warn against medicalization of the practice.
