OHCHR Press Conference (Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea)

The Special Rapporteur presents his first report to the Human Rights Council since the Commission of Inquiry on human rights in DPRK completed its work in March 2014. He stresses the international law implications of the Commission’s findings and the international community’s responsibility to protect. The report also discusses the qualitative differences in responses that are required of the Member States, the concerned and neighbouring countries, the United Nations system.
