New Permanent Representative of El Salvador Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Presentation of Credentials

 

Rina Yessenia Lozano Gallegos, the new Permanent Representative of El Salvador to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ambassador Lozano Gallegos had been serving as Director-General for foreign policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador (2019-2023). She was Director of the Office of Analysis of International Migration of the Vice-Ministry for Salvadorans Abroad at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from February (2016-2019), and she was Advisor to the Vice-Ministry for Salvadorans Abroad (2015-2016).

A career diplomat, Ms. Lozano Gallegos served as Director of North, South America and the Caribbean at the General Directorate of Foreign Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2012-2015). She was an Executive Assistant at the Minister’s Office (2010-2012). She also has experience teaching at University and has a number of research papers and publications.

Ambassador Lozano Gallegos has a master’s degree in diplomacy from the Diplomatic Institute “Doctor José Gustavo Guerrero” (El Salvador, 2018); a master’s degree in applied political science from the School of Politics and High Government “Goberna America Latina” and the Instituto Universitario de Investigación Ortega y Gasset (Spain,2012); and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Universidad de El Salvador in El Salvador (El Salvador, 2008).
