New Permanent Representative of Cambodia Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva
Dara In the new Permanent Representative of Cambodia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. In held several roles at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, most recently as the Deputy Director-General, within the General Department of Legal, Consular and Boundary Affairs, since 2017. From 2016 to 2017, he held the position of Assistant to the Ministry, with the rank of Deputy Director-General.
Between 2008 – 2013, Mr. In worked as the Deputy Director of the Department of Legal and Consular Affairs. He held several other positions in the Asia I and II Departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation from 2002, when he joined Cambodia’s diplomatic service.
Mr. In had been a visiting professor of Law at the Royal School of Administration in Cambodia, where he taught Law of the Sea and International Humanitarian Law, from 2018 until now. He also previously taught as a visiting professor at the Royal University of Law and Economics in Cambodia in 2011, and at the Pannasastra University of Cambodia between 2008 – 2013.
A member of the Cambodian Bar Association, Mr. In holds a Research Doctorate in Law from University College London, as well as a Master of Laws in International Law from the University of Aberdeen, and a Master of Laws from Nagoya University in Japan. He obtained a Bachelor of Laws from the Royal University of Law and Economics in Cambodia.
Born in the Kampot province, Mr. In is fluent in Khmer, his mother tongue, as well as English and French.
