NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF CYPRUS PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

George C. Kasoulides, the new Permanent Representative of Cyprus to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Michael Møller, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Kasoulides had been serving as the Ambassador of Cyprus to the Russian Federation since July 2013, with parallel accreditation to Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. He was the Ambassador of Cyprus to Denmark, with parallel accreditation to Iceland, from January 2009 to February 2013. He also served as Ambassador of Cyprus to Qatar from September 2003 to August 2007; and as Deputy High Commissioner and then Acting High Commissioner at the High Commission of Cyprus in London from October 1997 to July 2000.

Mr. Kasoulides served as Deputy Permanent Representative at the Permanent Mission of Cyprus to the United Nations in New York, then as Chargé d’Affaires from August 2000 to August 2003. He also served at the Permanent Mission of Cyprus to the United Nations from September 1990 to September 1994. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus in August 1989 and has held various other posts with the Ministry both in Cyprus and abroad.
