NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF MALAWI PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

Presentation of Credentials

Robert Dufter Salama, the new Permanent Representative of Malawi to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Michael Møller, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Mr. Salama is an export trade and investment promotion specialist who worked at the Malawi Export Promotion Council as a Senior Manager from 2003 until he retired in 2011. He was a Trade Attache at the Malawi High Commission in Harare, Zimbabwe from 1995 to 2003. He worked at the Malawi Export Promotion Council in various capacities from 1979 until 1995, including as Chief Marketing Officer from 1992 to 1995.

Mr. Salama has a Master of Business Administration in international trade from Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma, United States (1993); a Higher Marketing Certificate from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (1980); a Post Graduate Diploma in Management of Trade Information and Trade Resources from the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, Wales, United Kingdom (1978); and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Malawi, Chancellor College, Zomba, Malawi (1974). He was born on 22 November 1948 and is married.
