NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF MALTA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA
Olaph Terribile, the new Permanent Representative of Malta to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Michael Møller, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Terribile had been serving as Private Secretary to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Malta since April 2013; concurrently, he was the Training Director for young diplomats at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and a visiting lecturer at a number of academies. From July 2011 to April 2013, he was a full-time lecturer at the DiploFoundation and the Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies, University of Malta.
Foreign postings held by Mr. Terribile include working as First Secretary at the Embassy of Malta in China from September 1987 to December 1991; First Secretary at the Embassy of Malta in Saudi Arabia from July 1994 to February 1995; Counsellor at the Embassy of Malta in China from August 1997 to July 2001; and Deputy High Commissioner at Malta’s High Commission in London from May 2005 to November 2006. He has held various other posts at the Foreign Ministry in Malta.
Mr. Terribile has a Master degree in Chinese ancient history and literature from Hebei University in China (1999 to 2001). He was born on 23 October 1955 and is married with three children.
