NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF TOGO PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG

Presentation of Credentials

Nakpa Polo, the new Permanent Representative of Togo to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Polo had had been serving as Director General for human rights at the Ministry of Human Rights, Consolidation of Democracy and Civic Education of Togo since 1993, during which period she participated in the work of numerous meetings of the United Nations General Assembly and the Human Rights Council, among others. From 2006 to 2011, Ms. Polo also served as Coordinator of the inter-ministerial commission preparing initial and periodic reports to the United Nations human rights treaty bodies.

From 1992 to 1993, she served as Head of Personnel at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire-Campus and also worked at the Faculty of Law at the University of Benin-Togos.

Ms. Polo has a Doctorat Noveau régime in public law from the Université de Lile II (1989) and a Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies in administrative science from the same university (1984). She has a bachelor degree and then a master degree in law from the University of Benin-Lome (1982 and 1983). Ms. Polo was born on 16 November 1956 in Togo.
