NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF CYPRUS PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG

Presentation of Credentials

Andreas Hadjichrysanthou, the new Permanent Representative of Cyprus to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Hadjichrysanthou had been serving as Deputy Permanent Representative of Cyprus at the United Nations Headquarters in New York since 2003.

A career diplomat, Mr. Hadjichrysanthou was the Deputy High Commissioner of Cyprus in London from 2002 to 2003. He served as Director of the office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nicosia from 2001 to 2002. He held the post of First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Cyprus to the European Union in Brussels from 1996 to 2001. From 1993 to 1996, he worked in the European Union Affairs Division, Economic Affairs Division, and Protocol Division in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Born on 23 November 1958 in Nicosia, Mr. Hadjichrysanthou has a number of degrees from Stasbourg University.
