NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF DJIBOUTI PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG
Mohamed-Siad Doualeh, the new Permanent Representative of Djibouti to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Doualeh served, since September 2004, as Ambassador and Special Envoy of Djibouti to the Intergovernmental Authority on Development-led Somali peace process where he served as a member of the Facilitation Committee. From November 2002 to September 2004, he was a Special Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Spokesman of the Ministry.
In October 2001 Mr. Doualeh was appointed Secretary to the National Committee on Terrorism, a ministerial committee formed in line with Djibouti’s obligations under Security Council resolution 1373 (2001). He started his diplomatic career in March 1998 at the Ministry’s Department of Bilateral Relations, in the Africa-Asia subdivision.
Mr. Doualeh is a member of numerous organizations and, notably, is Editor-in-Chief of “L’Entre-Deux”, a magazine that promotes a culture of peace and builds on sociology, history and literature, which he founded in 1998.
Mr. Doualeh has a master’s degree in English literature and linguistics from the Institute for Languages in Pau, France (1996). He has an undergraduate degree in British and American Literature and Civilization and a certificate in sociology and philosophy (1995).
Married, with two children, Mr. Doualeh was born on 27 December 1968 in Djibouti, Republic of Djibouti.
