NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF MOROCCO PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG

Mohammed Loulichki, the new Permanent Representative of Morocco to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Loulichki had been serving, since 2003, as Director-General for Multilateral Relations and Global Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Morocco. He was Deputy Permanent Representative of Morocco at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 2001 to 2003. From 1999 to 2001, he was Coordinator with the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara in Laayoune.

Mr. Loulichki was Morocco’s Ambassador to Hungary, Croatia and Bosnia from 1995 to 1999. He served in a number of posts at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation starting 1974, and his foreign assignments include being posted as Vice-Consul in Paris from 1977 to 1982, and as Judicial Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Morocco in New York from 1982 to 1988.

Mr. Loulichki has represented his country at meetings of the Non-Aligned Movement; the United Nations General Assembly; and the Organization of the Islamic Conference among others.

Born on 6 April 1952, Mr. Loulichki is married and has two children. He has a degree in political science and post-graduate degrees in international law.
