NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF ECUADOR PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG
Juan Carlos Faidutti Estrada, the new Permanent Representative of Ecuador to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to his appointment in Geneva, Mr Faidutti Estrada served as President of the Commission of International Affairs of the Chamber of Representatives. He has also served as the Ambassador of Ecuador to the USSR, to the Organization of American States, to Canada, and to Uruguay. Mr. Faidutti Estrada has also been General Controller of the State, and President of the Institute of International Law of Guayaquil. He has served as Professor, Under-Director and Director of the Institute of Diplomacy of the University of Guayaquil, and has taught sea law, public international law, and diplomatic law in various universities and academies. He has also collaborated with several newspapers.
Mr Faidutti Estrada has a diploma in social science from the University of Guayaquil. A lawyer in the Ecuadorian courts, he also holds a Doctorate in jurisprudence, and a Masters degree in international diplomatic science.
Mr Faidutti Estrada was born on 1 July 1933 in Guayaquil.
