Situation of human rights in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)
Professor Vitit Muntarbhorn, UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the DPRK.
Prof. Muntarbhorn has been acting as the SR on DPRK since 2004. His term will come to an end in June, after six years of independent reporting. In his report, to be presented to the Human Rights Council on 15 March, Prof. Muntarbhorn will take stock of the progression of the work in the past six years. He will also provide an update of the most recent situation covering the last half of 2009 until the very beginning of 2010.

Situation of human rights in Myanmar
Mr. Tomas Ojea Quintana, UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar
Mr. Ojea Quintana was in Myanmar from 15 to 19 February, for his third visit to the country, since he was appointed as Special Rapporteur by the United Nations Human Rights Council in May 2008. The Special Rapporteur will present the findings of his mission to the Council on 15 March.

The UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief, Ms. Asma Jahangir, will share with the press an overview of the mandate and the activities she has undertaken in her function as Special Rapporteur, and the main observations she has made over five years of fact-finding and research. In her latest thematic report to the Human Rights Council, the Special Rapporteur focussed on early warning signs of discrimination and violence on the grounds or in the name of religion or belief.

The UN Special Rapporteur on Torture, Mr. Manfred Nowak, will share with the press an overview of the mandate and the activities he has undertaken in his function as Special Rapporteur, and the main observations he has made over five years of fact-finding and research. This global assessment is based on a detailed study of the phenomena of torture, cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, including an assessment of conditions of detention around the world.
