Средства массовой информации могут запрашивать постоянную или временную аккредитацию для своих корреспондентов для освещения целого ряда мероприятий, происходящих в Отделении Организации Объединенных Наций в Женеве, от заседаний Совета по правам человека и мирных переговоров до других крупных конференций и мероприятий.
Аккредитованные корреспонденты участвуют в еженедельных брифингах для прессы под председательством представителя ООН в Женеве и с участием представителей специализированных учреждений и программ ООН, базирующихся в Женеве.
