New Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva
Vladimir Cuc, the new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Cuc had been serving as State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova since August 2021. A career diplomat, he has held various positions within the Ministry, including Director of the European Integration Directorate (2020-2021); Head of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and International Security Division within the Directorate for Multilateral Cooperation (2010-2015); and First Secretary within the International Security General Directorate (2004-2007). In these roles, he was involved among other areas, in the Transnistrian conflict resolution process, and contributed to building bilateral relations with European countries, and the Republic of Moldova’s integration into the European Union.
Mr. Cuc also has experience working in the Republic of Moldova’s overseas missions, having served as Minister-Counselor at the Mission of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union in Brussels (2015-2018); and Second Secretary, First Secretary, and Counselor within the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Moldova in Vienna to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (2007-2010), concurrently serving as Charge d’affaires from 2009 to 2010.
He has two degrees from Moldova State University, obtaining a diploma in international relations in 2004 and a Master of Arts in international relations in 2005. Born on 30 December 1981, he is married and has one daughter.
