New Permanent Representative of the Federated States of Micronesia Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Akillino Harris Susaia, the new Permanent Representative of the Federated States of Micronesia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Susaia had been serving as Ambassador of the Federated States of Micronesia to the United States from 2017 to 2023. He served as his country’s Ambassador to China from 2010 to 2015. He also served as Consul General to Hawaii from 2008 to 2010; Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs from 2005 to 2008; and Secretary, Department of Transportation, Communications and Infrastructure from 2002 to 2005. At the beginning of his career, he held a series of posts within the Pohnpei State Government from 1978 to 2000.
Mr. Susaia holds a Master of Arts in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Oregon. He is married with two sons and two daughters.
