New Permanent Representative of Andorra Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva
Ferran Costa Marimon, the new Permanent Representative of Andorra to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Costa Marimon had been serving as President of the Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education in Andorra since June 2016. His political experience also includes being President of Andorra’s Independent Parliamentary Group from August 2022 to February 2023; President of the Legislative Commission on Education, Research, Culture, Youth and Sports from May 2015 to February 2023; member of the Legislative Commission on Finances from May 2019 to February 2023; President of the Liberal Parliamentary Group from May 2019 to July 2022; and member of the Andorran Parliament, Liberal Parliamentary Group from May 2015 to July 2022, among others.
He further served as head of delegation to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly from May 2019 to February 2023, and as a member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union delegation from May 2019 to February 2023.
Mr. Costa Marimon also has rich professional experience in the fields of language education and sports event management. He has been an affiliated lecturer with the University of Andorra since 2015.
Mr. Costa Marimon has a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Andorra in Andorra and a master’s degree from the University of Lleida in Spain, both in applied linguistics. He also has a postgraduate certificate in the management of small and medium-sized enterprises from Esade in Spain and a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in international relations and minor in economics, from Knox College.
