New Permanent Representative of Norway Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Tormod C. Endresen, the new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Norway to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Endresen served as Director General of the Office of the Prime Minister of Norway from 2020.  He was previously Norway’s Ambassador to Singapore from 2012 to 2017, and Consul General in Guangzhou, China from 2008 to 2012.

Other positions Mr. Endresen has held within Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs include Deputy Director General of the United Nations Department (2006-2008), Adviser to the Foreign Minister’s Secretariat (1999-2000), and Second Secretary for the Permanent Mission of Norway to the United Nations in New York (1996-1999).

He has also worked as an attorney-at-law at Wiersholm, Oslo (2000-2003) and as Deputy Judge in the Holt District Court (1995-1996).  Further, he has served with the Royal Norwegian Navy (1985-1986).

Mr. Endresen holds a Candidate of Law degree from the University of Oslo.  He is married and has four children.
