NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF SLOVENIA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA
Sabina Stadler Repnik, the new Permanent Representative of Slovenia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Until her latest appointment, Ms. Stadler Repnik was Director-General for Multilateral Affairs, Development Cooperation and International Law at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia since April 2017. She served as acting Director-General since July 2016 and Deputy Political Director and Deputy Director-General for Common Foreign and Security Policy from January to June 2016. Prior to joining the Ministry, Ms. Stadler Repnik worked in the European External Action Service of the European Union, first as Head of Office and Political Adviser to the Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia from 2011 to 2013, and then as Deputy Head of Division for European Neighbourhood Policy from 2013 to 2015.
From 2004 to 2010, Ms. Stadler Repnik held several positions in the Policy Unit of the European Council’s General Secretariat (task force Western Balkans), while from 2003 to 2004 she served as an adviser for foreign affairs in the Office of the Prime Minister of Slovenia. Between 1999 and 2003, she was the Third Secretary at the Mission of Slovenia to the European Communities and a contact person for political dialogue with Slovenia and negotiations for the European Union membership. She joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1997, serving as Attaché/Third Secretary in the Department for Analysis and Planning.
Ambassador Stadler Repnik speaks English, French, Serbian and Croatian. She holds a Master of Political Science (Master of Arts in international relations) from the Centre d'Etudes des Relations Internationales & Stratégiques, Brussels, and a Bachelor of Arts in economy from the University of Ljubljana. She is married and has one child.
