NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF GEORGIA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

Victor Dolidze, the new Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Michael Møller, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Dolidze had been serving as State Minister of Georgia for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration. He was a member of Parliament from 2012 to 2015. He served as Ambassador to Austria from 2005 to 2009, and concurrently was Ambassador to Hungary and Permanent Representative of Georgia to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and other international organizations in Vienna.

Mr. Dolidze served as Director of the International Security Department, National Security Council of Georgia, from 2004 to 2005. He served as Counsellor for political affairs at the Mission of Georgia to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Brussels from 2001 to 2004, and as Counsellor at the Embassy of Georgia in Belgium, concurrently in the Netherlands and in Luxembourg, from 2000 to 2001. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1996.

Mr. Dolidze has a degree from Tbilisi State University, Faculty of International Law and International Relations (1990 to 1995) and has attended courses in other institutes and centres. He was born on 4 July 1973 and is married with two children.
