NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF BOLIVIA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL, A.I., OF UNOG
Nardi Suxo Iturry, the new Permanent Representative of Bolivia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Michael Møller, Director-General, a.i., United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Suxo Iturry had been serving as Minister of Institutional Transparency and Fight against Corruption since 2008.
During her career, Ms. Suxo Iturry had undertaken numerous activities related to the promotion and protection of human rights, including at the Permanent Assembly for Human Rights in La Paz, where she was Vice President in 1986. She was responsible for Amnesty International groups in Bolivia from 1986 to 1996. Ms. Suxo Iturry was also a member of the Secretariat for the Protection of Women against Domestic Violence in 1985, and worked as a legal counsellor for two workers’ trade unions – the Bolivian Workers’ Centre (Central Obrera Boliviana) and the Unified Syndical Confederation of Rural Workers of Bolivia (Confederación Única de Trabajadores Campesinos de Bolivia) – in 1982.
With a degree in law and political science from the Public University of San Andres,
Ms. Suxo Iturry also has diplomas in human rights from the Carlos III University in Spain and the Diego Portales University in Chile.
