NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF COLOMBIA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG
Presentation of Credentials
Alicia Victoria Arango Olmos, the new Permanent Representative of Colombia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Ms. Arango comes to Geneva after serving for eight years as Chief of Staff of the Office of the President of Colombia, Alvaro Uribe Velez. She was his personal assistant during the presidential campaign between 2001 and 2001. Ms. Arango also has 18 years of experience in top management positions in the public sector in Colombia, specializing in social policy, high level negotiation processes, project coordination and management, including as Director of the Institute for Sport and Recreation of Bogota, Advisor to the General Director of the Colombian Institute for Family Welfare, and Deputy Director of the Colombian Institute of Management.
Ms. Arango has a BA in Business Administration from the College of High Level Studies in Administration and a Graduate degree in Public Management from Los Andes University, both in Bogota.
