NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF SAN MARINO PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG
Guido Bellatti Ceccoli, the new Permanent Representative of San Marino to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
In addition to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Bellatti Ceccoli remains the Permanent Representative of San Marino to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, a post which he took up in 2000, and non-resident Ambassador of San Marino to Tunisia, a position which he has occupied since 2007.
Mr. Bellatti Ceccoli joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of San Marino in 1989, and was sent to the Permanent Mission of San Marino to the Council of Europe in 1991. He was Deputy Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe in 1993, and Charge d’affairs of the Mission between 1996 and 2000.
Among his activities within the framework of his assignment to the Council of Europe, Mr. Bellatti Ceccoli served as Thematic Coordinator on “the religious dimension and intercultural dialogue” since 2007, and was a member of the Executive Council of the Centre for Global Interdependence and Solidarity since 2008. He was also a member of the permanent delegation of San Marino to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in Paris (1992 to 2009). He represented his country at the European Court for Human Rights in Strasbourg (since 1995).
Mr. Bellatti Ceccoli has a Ph.D. in modern history from the University of Fribourg in Switzerland, as well as a MA in Mediterranean and Oriental studies from the University of Human Sciences in Strasbourg and a degree in law from the University of Florence.
Born on 6 June 1963, Mr. Bellatti Ceccoli is married with two children.
