WHO Press Conference

Press Conference Announcement
For the launch of its new online database, GLOBOCAN 2012, the specialized cancer research agency of the World Health Organization, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) will hold a press briefing to present the latest cancer trends. Experts will provide an analysis of global trends in cancer incidence, mortality, and prevalence and introduce the new online cancer database, GLOBOCAN 2012.
GLOBOCAN 2012 reveals striking patterns of cancer in women and highlights that priority should be given to cancer prevention and control measures for breast and cervix cancers globally. The online resource includes the most recent estimates for 28 types of cancers in 184 countries and offers a comprehensive overview of the global cancer burden. It has facilities to produce maps and a series of factsheets to describe the overall cancer burden in specific areas or countries.
