New Permanent Representative of Nepal Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Ram Prasad Subedi, the new Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Subedi served as the Head of the South Asia Division at Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs since November 2022.  Before that, he was Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi since November 2020, where he also served as Chargé d'Affaires a.i. from October 2021 to April 2022.  He was the Head of the Regional Organization Division, as well as the Policy, Planning, Development Diplomacy and Overseas Nepali Affairs Division from October 2019 to November 2020.

Mr. Subedi served at the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations Office at Geneva from February 2018 to July 2019 as Minister Counsellor, and at the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing from February 2012 to February 2016 as Counsellor (political, cultural and media affairs), where he also acted as Deputy Head of Mission.

He has served as Director-General of the Department of Consular Services, and Director of the Department of Passports, among other posts at the Foreign Ministry.

Born in 1977, Mr. Subedi holds master’s degrees in science and management from Nepal's Tribhuvan University.  He is married and has two children.
