NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

Oxana Domenti, the new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Michael Møller, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Domenti had been serving as an Associate Professor at the School of Public Health Management under the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu” in the Republic of Moldova and a Consultant on health policy to the World Health Organization from January to October 2018. She served as a Member of Parliament of the Republic of Moldova from May 2009 until December 2017.

Ms. Domenti was an Adviser to the President of the Republic of Moldova on social development issues between May 2003 to May 2009, during which time she also worked as a Consultant on social development issues to the United Nations Children’s Fund. From August 1994 to June 2003, she served as an Associate Professor at the Department of Banking and Stock Exchange, Faculty of Finance, Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova.

Ms. Domenti has a Diploma of Licentiate in economics from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, Faculty of Management (1989 to 1994; a Doctor of Sciences from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (1997 to 2001); a Master degree in European social security from Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven, Faculty of Law, European Institute of Social Security in Belgium (2007 to 2008); and she attended the Master programme in public health at the University of London, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom (2017 to 2018). She was born on 12 April 1972 in the Republic of Moldova and is married with one child.
