NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF LESOTHO PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

Presentation of Credentials

Nkopane Monyane, the new Permanent Representative of Lesotho to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Monyane had been working in the private sector since 2001. He was the Managing Director of Lesotho Bank from 1991 to 1999 and the General Manager of the Central Bank of Lesotho from 1990 to 1991. He has worked in the banking sector for most of his career.

Mr. Monyane obtained a BA in economics and sociology in 1975 and a MS in banking in 1978. Born on 18 April 1951, Mr. Monyane is married and has four children.
