NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF HAITI PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA
Presentation of Credentials
Pierre Andre Dunbar, the new Permanent Representative of Haiti to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Dunbar had served as Director-General of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Haiti from 2006 to 2012. Since 2002, he had also been teaching trade policy negotiations and techniques at the National Diplomatic and Consular Academy in Port-au-Prince. Mr. Dunbar has worked at the Ministry of Trade and Industry since 1987, holding a variety of positions, including as Assistant Director at the Direction of External Trade and Representative of the Minister to the Office of Coordination and Follow-up for Agreements with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Free Trade Area of the Americas (ZELA) from 1999 to 2006.
During his career, Mr. Dunbar has represented Haiti in numerous meetings of CARICOM, WTO, ZELA and other international organizations.
Mr. Dunbar was born on 4 June 1959 in Port-au-Prince and is married. He has a degree in political science from the National Institute of Administration, Management and International Studies (1980-1985) in Haiti and a diploma from the Faculte de Droit de Sceaux, Paris XI in France (1985-1987).
