NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

Presentation of Credentials

Dr. Miloš Prica, the new Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Dr. Prica held the position of Ambassador at Large in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responsible for the United Nations Security Council membership of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Before taking up that post Dr. Prica served as the Head of the Coordinating team for the 2010 to 2011 campaign to win a non-permanent seat at the Security Council. Between 2005 and 2008 Dr. Prica was the Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations in New York. In 2005 he held the post of Head of the Department for Immunities and Privileges of Foreign Diplomats and Diplomatic Protocol within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Between 2000 and 2006 Dr. Prica undertook a tour of duty to New York as Minister Counsellor and Deputy Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations in New York. Dr. Prica served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Sector for Multilateral Relations as Minister Counsellor between 1999 and 2000, and before that was an Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska for Relations with the Office of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and other international organizations, a post he held from 1998 to 1999. Dr. Prica held the post of Chief of Staff to the President of the Republic of Srpska from 1996 to 1998.

Prior to his diplomatic profession Dr. Prica had a career in medicine, and from 1986 to 1996 he worked as a medical doctor specialising in internal medicine. Dr. Prica has a Degree in Medicine from the University of Belgrade, and took specialized studies in Internal Medicine. He was born in Chicago, United States.
