NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG
Presentation of Credentials
Leopold Samba, the new Permanent Representative of the Central African Republic to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Samba had been serving as the Permanent Representative of the Central African Republic to the World Trade Organization in Geneva since 2007. Most of his career has been spent serving as a senior government civil servant and accountant in charge of supervision and follow-up of civil servants and verifying public accounts. He has represented the Central African Republic in numerous international conferences, meetings and negotiations.
Mr. Samba has a degree in economics and development from the University of Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne (1975-1977) and a graduate degree from the same university in economics and agricultural development (1977- 1978). He also has a graduate degree from the International Institute for Public Administration in Paris in international economics (1978 and 1979) and a degree from the International Institute for Law in Rome in international negotiations (1986).
Mr. Samba was born in Sakpa Bimbo in the Central African Republic on 22 March 1946. He is married.
