NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF QATAR PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG

Presentation of Credentials

Abdulla Falah Abdulla Al-Dosari, the new Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Al-Dosari had been serving, since August 2005, as the Ambassador of Qatar in Brussels. In addition, while in Brussels, in July 2006, Mr. Al-Dosari was appointed Head of the Mission of Qatar to the European Union, and in March 2007, he was appointed as non-Resident Ambassador to Luxembourg. Mr. Al-Dosari was previously Qatar's Ambassador to Pakistan, from 2000 to 2004.

Mr. Al-Dosari joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar in 1980, as a Third Secretary. He was subsequently posted to the Permanent Mission of Qatar to the United Nations in New York, from 1981 to 1982, and later worked in the Economic Management Department, from 1982 to 1988. Among other appointments, from 1991 to 1997, Mr. Al-Dosari served at the Permanent Mission of Qatar to the European Union in Brussels.

Mr. Al-Dosari received a bachelor's degree in Political Science in 1980.

Born on 18 July 1955, Mr. Al-Dosari is married with three children.
