NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF HONDURAS PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG
Presentation of Credentials
Delmer Urbizo, the new Permanent Representative of Honduras to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Over the course of his governmental career, Mr. Urbizo has served as Minister of Administration and Justice; Minister of Foreign Relations; and Minister of Economy and Commerce.
The new Permanent Representative of Honduras has also served in numerous different government administrative capacities, as well as in the private sector. In addition, he is on the board of numerous State institutions, in particular, the Institute for Child and Family Welfare, the National Institute of Childhood, and the National Insitute for Retirement and Pensions for Civil Servants and Government Officials.
Mr. Urbizo has also participated in numerous international meetings and bilateral negotiations, in particular in the framework of inter-American cooperation efforts. He has also participated in the sessions of the General Assembly in 1995, 1996, and 1997, and in the work of the Security Council in 1995 and 1996.
Born on 30 December 1936 in Tela, Mr. Urbizo graduated from the Autonomous University of Honduras with a degree in law and social science.
